Funk-rocker Shane Theriot weaves the supple rhythms of New Orleans with the urgent tones of blues and rock. Boasting extensive session and stage credits (including the Neville Brothers, LeAnn Rimes, Willie Nelson, Jewel, Idris Mohammed, Leni Stern, Sam Moore, Shannon McNally, Little Feat, Jo-El Sonnier and Boz Scaggs), Theriot also performs and records as a soloist.
Theriot has released three albums under his own name: 2000's Hwy 90, 2003's The Grease Factor and his brand-new burner, Dirty Power. In our exclusive interview, Theriot describes recording Dirty Power and what it's like to work with drum legends Jim Keltner, Zigaboo Modeliste and Richie Hayward. He also offers insights into his composing and playing techniques.
